Who Is Behind The Door?
In 2018, three passionate designers, Shona Doran, Lalie Jacout and Leo Morvillo, came together to help launch a London based cocktail bar called The Little Blue Door in Fulham. Three years on they decided to start their own interior design studio Behind The Door Designs Ltd.
Together their love of different cultures, food and history inspires them to mix styles and genres together to seamlessly blend elements of warmth and whimsy to make even the most demanding spaces seem inviting.

With a commitment to collaboration, attention to detail, and a flair for the fun, they continue to push the boundaries of design, challenging the more traditional aesthetics one door at a time.
Shona Doran
DESIGN & CLIENT DIRECTOR
Having studied Mandarin and History at Edinburgh university before entering the Wealth Management world of finance, Shona’s keen eye for technical design and a lover of authentic craftsmanship eventually drew her towards the world of interiors. Her ability to understand and listen, providing calm support to each client throughout the design process ensures each project is uniquely tailored to the individual client’s needs and results are both beautiful and fiscally sound.
Lalie Jacout
DESIGN & OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Fluent in French and English, Lalie Jacout, is a creative force bringing a touch of glamour and joy to Behind The Door’s design ideas. Hailing from a fashion, food and hospitality background, her ability to see an idea in a bigger or bolder format alongside her operational expertise enables each project to reach new heights and be delivered on time.
Leopoldina (Leo) Morvillo
SOCIAL MEDIA & SOURCING DIRECTOR
Raised in Tuscany Italy, now a native Londoner, Leo has a deep love for interiors and extensive knowledge in antiques having trained at Sotheby's London. Her expertise in curating design ideas and layering contemporary furnishings, art and antiques in a way that adds depth and character to detail designs, when responding to client briefs, she understands how these elements infuse spaces with a sense of warmth and elegance which is integral to Behind The Door’s design process.
